We are really happy to announce that on 13th and 14th September 2008 WEN will run a retreat for all local groups. We will let you know more in the next issue of Women's Eye and will also shortly send out booking forms to all local groups.
During the retreat we will run a series of interactive sessions on a variety of topics related to local groups and WEN’s work but there will also be plenty of time to chat and exchange ideas in a friendly and informal manner. We hope to have a really creative and FUN weekend. The retreat is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet other local groups from all across the country.

- Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) is the only organisation in the UK to work consistently for women and the environment. Our vision is a world where women are aware of their ability to change the environment for the better and actively come together to do so. WEN believes that women have a critical role in affecting environmental change, such as mitigating the effects of climate change or reducing the amount of waste. This role is rooted in women’s considerable and proven influence over the decisions and purchases of households and as catalysts for changes in thinking and behaviour, particularly the behaviour of children. Our agenda for the future is based on: 1.Empowering women to make positive environmental change 2.Increasing awareness of women’s perspectives on environmental issues 3.Influencing decision-making to achieve environmental justice for women The key to our success is our nationwide local groups network through which information and campaigning is disseminated, and our dedicated force of volunteers who work to ensure this happens.
